lucyhollis 2 Posted January 1, 2006 We stopped for a view of this snow capped mountain, but these women, a short walk down the road, provided a good foreground with their sheep too. In fact I had to zoom in quite away even to get this shot, but the woman in pink still saw me and came over to me quite angry (in fact very!). Luckily our taxi driver (who helpfully could speak Quechua, their native language) calmed her down and she settled on some American chewing gum in return! But all in all I think I did end up with a good photo! Link to comment
frivera 0 Posted January 1, 2006 Very good composition: women on the right and sheeps on the left. But the mountains there behind give the impression that the pic was taken so high. I suppose it's Bolivia. Link to comment
michaelging 1 Posted January 2, 2006 Lucy, I like the photo, it has a very nice balance to the composition. I also think this crop work well with the subjust matter. Thanks for the photo and the story. Link to comment
lucyhollis 2 Posted January 2, 2006 Thanks for your comments. I took this photo actually in Peru, on the road between Cusco and Urubamba. And yes, it is at a pretty high altitude. Link to comment
www.babacool.nl 1 Posted January 2, 2006 Beautiful photo. I don't like your frame. Especialy the pink text and lining. Draws too much attention from a very nice picture. Link to comment
sef1664877429 0 Posted January 2, 2006 Superbly balanced, but ditto on the frame. Cheapens it. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted January 3, 2006 Excellent composition. The women are perfectly placed, and also the sheep. The only thing I would like is that you enhance contrast in the mountains in order to dim the hazy effect (see above). Regards, and happy new year, Henri. Link to comment
lucyhollis 2 Posted January 3, 2006 Thanks for your comments and ideas. Lessening the haze on the mountain does give it more impact. I like seeing what others can do to my photos!hehe! Link to comment
ransford 0 Posted January 31, 2006 Nice combination. You've got the feel of the barren altiplano, the ruggedness of the mountains, along with humanity (and sheepanity). Well done. I like Henri's change as well, or maybe something in between, to keep the atmospheric distance of the mountains. Link to comment
