kleintje 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Wow - wonderful! Amazing photo to start the new year with! Though I admit that my first thought (like Leann's) went to the tree. Glad to hear it survived (and you too of course :) Happy New Year and I hope to see many more of these amazing photos! Link to comment

hondo 0 Posted January 7, 2006 Wow Ken, I cannot believe that some twit could rate this a 3/3. This is a fantastic photograph. A definite 8/8. But sorry you will have to settle for the 7/7. Blame photo.net. Great shot. Link to comment
stormphotonet 1 Posted January 7, 2006 It is not that someone rated one of my photos low and I can see someone that is not a member that is posting his or her own photos and just the fly by rated. But when someone like this person does this it makes you wonder what is the motive. I wish that they would take time to say why. And try to help. I did send a e-mail asking and all I got was it is a bad foto. Ok that is good help. Just my thought on the rating thing. Thank you all so much for all your kind comments and rating! They keep me going. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted January 8, 2006 Chris Appoldt said:Good grief...now THAT is exciting work. F*** chasing birds - photos like this I'll take any day! Got room in that thing for a 6'3" spaz from NY?Chris you crack me up. Now me on the other hand, I'm quite happy to be sat here looking at the photo - you'd maybe get me as close as this shot was if I was sat facing the opposite direction in a very fast car, maybe.I can't believe to this day how close some of you nuts get to these things! Stay safe Ken, we want to see the results ;) Link to comment
stormphotonet 1 Posted January 8, 2006 Kalaga Venu Madhav As I recall it was rated by the NWS as being a F-2 It was the first tornado of this supercell that move east across south Kansas on May 29, 2004 This storm did 13 tornados during it life time the last one was an F-3 that hit the town of Conway Springs after sun set in south Kansas. The image att. is a pic from inside the van of the 13th tornado going into Conway Springs. For those of you that would like to read the chase log for this day it is at; http://www.stormphoto.net/May%2029%20log.htm Paula Grenside If I understand you. It has been in PS and the contrast and brightnes adjusted. Thank you and happy shooting Link to comment
virgilmlesnita 0 Posted January 8, 2006 Looks scaring indeed! Wish you a Happy New Year and lots of big tornadoes! Thans a lot for your attention and ratings given on my photos. Best, Virgil Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted January 8, 2006 Happy New Year! The base of the tornado seems almost graceful and delicate when compared to the enormity of the storm cloud it came from...amazing how deceptive that is when you realize how incredibly powerful and destructive it can be! Truly great image...the tree is a nice bonus :) Glad it survived. Stay safe, Leslie Link to comment
jofolo 0 Posted January 8, 2006 I would definitively be scared to be taking such a picture. However just a question: Has the tree survived? Keep on the good work Link to comment
stormphotonet 1 Posted January 8, 2006 Yes the tree did, the tornado pasted just behind it Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted January 9, 2006 Fantastic shot, I like how you cropped it, too! I was up in your neck of the woods yesterday - seeing the Avedon show at the Amon Carter - had I thought about it I would have given you the heads up, let you hang with us photog types out of Austin, LOL!
