One of my first posed portraits. Shot under natural light with a

reflector for fill.

I like the attitude in this portrait, very unusual, especially with a girl. The lighting is a bit too far to the side for my taste, leaving a lot of shadows. The fill produces an unnatural light, because it was placed opposite the light source in stead of close to the camera. In Dutch we call this tweazer lighting, and it is not flattering. I have seenit used succesfully to make a person look strict though.

I am not sure whether it is her first posing session as well, but that is how she looks. Reluctant to be beautifull. Nice picture.

Wow, thank you all for those comments!

Arjen-

Thank you for taking the time to explain what you liked and dislike about the photo and I never knew about this form of lighting called tweazer lighting! Thankyou very much! I can see where you're coming from and will keep that in mind for future images.

Frank-

This was indeed her first sitting and also my first portrait sitting but it was hard to capture a natural, candid type, looking image whilst retaining a flatering look. Will have to work on that next time.
