jo7hs2 0 Posted December 31, 2005 Since I had my Digital Rebel XT out for metering, figured I might take some shots in color as well. Let me know what you think. Link to comment
jo7hs2 0 Posted January 1, 2006 Yeah, I had to slip in on a rainy day to avoid the crowds of people climbing the falls, and unfortunately the little patch of sunlight that I had while I was setting up my graflex gave way to a delightful little shower as I was shooting with the rebel. Truthfully, this is one of the least attractive waterfalls I have been to, partically due to the very drab (even in daylight) color of the rocks. In the summer it is a bit better, but I have never succeeded in photographing it then, because of all the people. I am almost tempted to crop out some more of the rock. Actually, some of the best rock color I have seen was at Peavine Falls (near Birmingham, AL, in portfolio) where there is a nice section of reddish rock. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day when I went there too, but that isn't really an excuse, because my favorite shots so far are of Upper Caney Falls (Sipsey Wilderness, AL, in portfolio) which were taken under clouds and as the clouds broke, and at midday.
