Ok pose, I guess, but a little bland for my tastes

I'm quite impressed with this shot of your child...I am assuming this is your child because she seems to have a nice empathically bonding smile going on between herself and the photographer. This is ALWAYS a wonderful thing to capture. The picture itself could have been a little sharper, especially around the lips, but her expression is priceless. The way she wrapped her arms around was very warming and pleasing to the eye..this is an excellent Christmas photo. The lighting was perfect; the only way it would have been more perfect is if you had provided some catchlight in her eyes. It would be interesting to know if you used an off-camera flash system for this one..I think the lighting could use a touch more of a kick, but other than this the shot is next to perfect! Kudos to you! I hope you'll rate my photos when I post them. :)

thank you pamela. I agree! I used 2 strobes. However, they are not adjustable. I have to move them back and forth. It seems that in order to get the lighting just right, I have to lose that catch. Which is a big bummer for me! Catch lights are usually what makes a photo for me. back to the drawing boards. thanks so much for your comment. :)

A lot easier to look at than your pagent photo. The only feedback I could give you is lose the tree behind her head. It blends too well with her hair and is a bit distracting.
