mcgarity 0 Posted December 27, 2005 Pnina, Colin thank you both. I appreciate the comments. Wouldn't it be nice if you could bottle the first ten minutes of light every morning to use whenever needed? It really is the best part of the day. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted December 30, 2005 Lovely; that golden glow! And what a nice mix of horse colors. Mmmmmmm! Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Thank you Kim. That appy on the right seems to be the head honcho. I see a lot bickering and squabbling going on. But not with him. The other horses seem to give him a certain amount of deference. One thing is for sure, he is a gorgeous animal. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted December 30, 2005 The magic of horses grazing in that lovely light is so well captured, humankind has been fascinated with equines ever since the beginning, the critter has served us well. Hope this New Year has lots of photo ops, great adventures and good will for you and yours. Link to comment
lgreene 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Oh man you beat me bad to this kind of scene. Very gentle mood-soft light ,horses grazing quietly. Just how did you arrange for the nice variety of coat colors? Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted December 31, 2005 Thank you Susan. You are right about the fascination people have always had for the horse. I saw a TV program not long ago about how crucial they were to the spread of civilization. A jawbone of a horse in central asia was found with wear marks from a bridle. It dates to 3000 BC. I was absolutely astounded at that. I hadn't realized they were domesticated that far back in time. Anyway I wish you and yours all the best in the coming new year. Thanks again. :) Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted December 31, 2005 Thank you Leann. With respect to the light, all I can say is I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time. As to the various colors of the horses, there are 32 head in that pasture by my latest count. Colorwise they cover the spectrum. There are a couple of whites, a couple of blacks, three appaloosas, a dappled gray, a dark gray, a couple of paints, a palamino, a few bays, and bunch of sorrels, and a couple that defy description. Its fascinating to watch the interplay between the various individuals. The dappled gray mare is my favorite. I don't have a photo posted of her yet. Anyway thanks for commenting. Here is wishing you and your family all the best in the new year. Link to comment
