...breaking the first 'rule' of photography -- shooting into the sun...

I'm not sure if this needs more contrast, or less. I do like the

abstract-ness of it. I printed it on Oriental Seagull #3 and toned

it in KRST 1:20.

Any profound thoughts?

I like the idea of shooting up through the sun to give transparency to an otherwise opaque object. Keep doing it, I've seen some really impressive shots out there, mainly with flower petals, flags, etc.

Hi! This is quite a nice little photo. The contrast is ok but it's just a little dark Remember that when you are shooting into the light, meter for the shadows (unless you want a silhouette). This photo isn't a silhouette but the camera meter has been fooled into thinking that the scene is brighter than it is and has increased your shutter speed or stopped down your aperture to compensate. Point your camera at a darker area, use exposure lock or note what the meter says (f stop and shutter speed), recompose and shoot. That way you'll have a lighter scene with detail in the shadow areas. Well done, keep up the good work-nice to see you go for a detail shot!
