forrest_croce 0 Posted December 21, 2001 Is this 17th and Valencia? You exposed the sky very well ... much better than a lot of street photography I've seen. It contrasts well with the reds and the whites. Next, get rid of some of the clutter. Less cars, more yuppies and homeless. Figure out how to compose all of the elements better, more novel. Shoot wider if you can ... not so easy with an Uzi. Link to comment
gerald_widen 2 Posted December 22, 2001 I agree with the above post. I don't mind the cars because you wanted clutter but some more people especially interesting ones would add another dimension to the photo. Nice Link to comment
szabla 0 Posted December 27, 2001 Thanks for the commentary, I never get this much! This was indeed taken at 17th and Valencia in the Mission District. I believe this is the best place in the city for photography, it's very rich in colour and variety of people. Unfortunately my visit was in the early morning and that's why the scene seems more desolate than I would have liked...although the main focus was the architecture. In the future I'll try and shoot later in the day to capture the flavour of the local population as well as the buildings. Link to comment
