I'm curious about this also ... just to know though; I don't think there is such a thing as "cheating." Did you spray him yourself? Could he fly with all that? Anyway, tremendously well executed. I love how the pattern in the eyes is magnified in the drops (that might be worth treatment as a second shot if you have enough resolution to crop that much). One of the best macros I've ever seen.

Nicely done, Stanko -- a beautiful fly photo! For those people who are puzzled as to how Stanko persuaded the fly to remain still, surely this was taken early in the morning while the fly was too cold to be active. Hence the dew on the fly's body.

Whether it's alive or dead it could not move with probably hundreds of times it's bodyweight in water thus permitting hundreds of exposures 'till you get the result you want.That said it is still macro.

Hands down, this is the BEST macro image I've ever seen. Very well done!
