peter_daalder 0 Posted December 22, 2005 You know what? I did go to the Large version and am astounded by the detail in this, Momo. Not being familiar with the Coolpix 8400, I went and had a look at how many pixels it captures - 8 Megapixels! OK, so what is the next part of your post-processing? I have not often seen this (apparent) quality in a relatively small web pic. Your square format gave me the inital feeling that this was shot with medium format. I bet you didn't just run this through a USM action, before upload... Link to comment
vuyisich 0 Posted December 22, 2005 Hi Peter. Thanks for your comments. I only do USM sharpening, but I use a method which is a combination of what I found online and what I discovered myself (trial and error). I sharpen the original image with 2 pixel radius (threshold is always 0). Then I downsize to 2048x1536, and apply USM with 1 pixel radius. Then I downsize to 800x600 and use 0.5 pixel radius. This method has worked well for me and I recommend it to anyone. Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted December 23, 2005 Thanks for that, Momo. I'll start playing around with that technique and see if might solve some of my sharpening-for-PN-upload hassles. Link to comment
