I like the pose though and the atmosphere of serious effort. Given the difficulty of removing a German soldier's MP44 from him don't you think he would be more likely to have carried a Sten gun? erin.e 0 Posted December 26, 2005 Indeed Colin "You vill haf to wrest dis veapon from my cold dead hands" and as the MP44 was the worlds first assault rifle and only issued to elite German troops, the Frenchman would have had work really hard to earn this one in real life. I guess his camouflage is for night operations, but then again he is a Frenchman! Incidentally, the rifle is an original example and one of two that are part of Peter Jacksons WW2 armoury. These are rare collectors items and fetch around US $10,000 on WW2 small arms market Link to comment
