Thanks, Andrea and Jason. Andrea, I think sepia works with this bird because it is a neutral colored bird anyway - people seem to object if you use b&w or sepia on a brightly colored bird, like a cardinal or hummingbird.

Ah! the flip fooled me! I think I prefer the sepia version - dunno why, not much in it - both are great shots full of character.

Not a flip, Colin - just two shots taken around the same time with the bird facing a different direction. I just treated them differently - leaving one in color and the other sepia.

Beautiful shot Kim... wonderful colours and clarity. Everything "works" nicely together, I really like the mixture of wood/vine and wire at bottom.

I love your latest bird shots and I think this is my favorite. The lighting and the sharpness enhance the details in the plumage. The sepia is wonderful too.

Thanks, Matt and Kim. This one is printed out, Kim, and I'm going to mat and frame it for an exhibition. I'm very pleased with it and the sepia just makes it pop.

Sorry it's been awhile. This shot really caught my eye. The background color is so rich, almost fluid, and the detail in the bird is exquisite. The tones definitely enhance the shot and take nothing away from the bird itself. Perfect way to make an ordinary bird look extraordinary! You have a wonderful way of finding the best in each of your shots! This will look great at your exhibit! Happy New Year! Leslie

Thanks, Leslie - nice to have you visit. I'm anxious to see this one matted & framed, now that our "matting" table is free of the Christmas Village. :)
