m._ort 0 Posted December 16, 2001 Wonderful street photo! The snow sticking to the man makes the image other worldly. Wish it had one more stop of exposure for more detail, but that is minor. Kind regards, m. Link to comment
sihirlitur.com 0 Posted December 16, 2001 scanned from an old print.. what do you think of the impression? Link to comment
nejattalas 0 Posted December 16, 2001 Simply a powerful portrait. I can feel the hard life conditions he's been through.. Successful capture. Link to comment
stevemontanino 0 Posted December 17, 2001 I agree that maybe you want one more stop in there, I think his skin tone is a little dark. But I love the contrast with the jacket and the snow. A winner. Link to comment
chuck 0 Posted December 17, 2001 You captured the moment when the essence took form. A superior photograph. Next to a photo like this most "technically outstanding" photos are mere decorations. Link to comment
pete w 0 Posted December 17, 2001 Haluk, The minute I saw this photo on the Top Rated Page I went Wow Haluk did it again! Sure enough it was you and sure enough its incredible again! Brilliant, powerful and beautiful with so much feeling. Take Care Pete Link to comment
maria_s. 1 Posted December 18, 2001 Great shot ... perhaps it was printed a grade darker for bleaching & that could be still corrected? Did you tone it in two separate baths? Just wondering. Link to comment
magradze 0 Posted December 18, 2001 Nice shot efendi! This is very dramatic photo. I can imagine how important this bag was for him. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted December 18, 2001 Like most of your b/ws Haluk, this seems to come from another age : and 1977 was just yesterday. Excellent, powerful image - you have captured the essence of this man. Bravo!! Link to comment
think27 0 Posted December 18, 2001 A sense of urgency is evident...the cold - well, you can feel it! I think this WAS "yesterday" Seven... It would be interesting to see a scan from the negative or a reworked print as you can see the yellow from age in this scanned print. I would also like to see the face opened up just a tad. We don't need to see his face in every detail... but something a little more would be good. I'll bet there is more info in the face on the original! I'd love to see it clearer... Still - the image is a good one for what it represents. Link to comment
omar_ozenir2 0 Posted December 18, 2001 What an incredibly powerful photograph. One picture is worth a thousand words, it is said. Indeed. Link to comment

iwmac 0 Posted January 8, 2002 I rated this an 8 for aesthetics rather reluctantly. I am bothered by the photographers imprint in the lower right corner. It destroys the mood and beauty of the photo. Link to comment
jean_schweitzer 0 Posted February 26, 2002 Haluk, I love this picture, it so full of sensibility. It is in fact of the the criteria that is missing in the rating. so I put it all in the two allowable ratings....(does what I say make sense???) Jean Link to comment

andreas d. 0 Posted February 21, 2005 You,indeed, captured the moment. The expression and posture of the man is about life, about suffering of the unprivilaged and about old ages misfortunes. A great picture in a great gallery! Link to comment
