brendon 0 Posted December 16, 2001 Great "Mona Lisa" expression, good lighting, exposure. I like the streetlamp as a prop. I'm surprised that with that portrait lens the vegetation background remains as sharp as it is. It may not have been as distracting if it were a color photo. Link to comment
detlef 6 Posted December 16, 2001 I like the composition and she`s got good facial expression...I wonder about those pants...patterns always distract me...anyways...very well done! Link to comment
m._ort 0 Posted December 19, 2001 Taken in openshade using a reflector. Comments, critiques and ratings? Thanks and kind regards, m. Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted December 19, 2001 Nicely done. Except the pants. A solid would have done this photo more justice. Pattern clothes in portraits just don't make it Link to comment
kelly_perl 0 Posted December 19, 2001 Jayme is two photos away from working with the camera effectively. Here she's getting ready to decide who's boss (not necessarily her) but hasn't crossed the line yet. The left hand border of the photo is cut in such a way that it looks as if she's drawing in her feet for the photo's benefit. Good exposure but a little low contrast to my taste. This *might* be better in color. I also ratify what someone else said about the busy vegetation. I think if you eliminated the vegetation's business she could keep those pants on. Or not ;-). Looking forward to more from this series. Link to comment
bob fowler 8 Posted December 19, 2001 Those pants HAVE to go! Beautiful execution of the portrait, great lighting, wonderful facial expression... but the pants... Link to comment
shawngibson 0 Posted December 19, 2001 This is a nice shot, seems to create a small space which I like. It's nice to have such a natural model to work with, who is also so photographic. Link to comment
yuriy y. vilin 0 Posted December 19, 2001 What's wrong with pants? Nothing, in my opinion. This shot is very nicely done. Link to comment
twmeyer 0 Posted December 20, 2001 maybe I'll make a folder of all of the shots like this posted on the internet, but it would crash the server before I got 1/10 of the images loaded. Really, M... haven't you seen a million of this same shot? It's so... phony, so trite, so obviously made for the hetero guy that hasn't been hit on in his entire life! I mean if some girl looked at me this way in "real life" (whatever that is), I'd bust out laughing... t (p.s... nice pants!... really!) Link to comment
shootme 0 Posted December 20, 2001 nice job, composition, light, expretion are all fine. good. Link to comment
marco mugnatto 0 Posted February 9, 2002 To me the pants combine with the lamp pole. The problem is the cut at left. Link to comment
vincent_ammann 0 Posted February 14, 2002 I agree with Marco, I love the pose, but I think the photo would have been much better as a horizontal shot rather than vertical. This would have given her room to stretch out within the frame and give a more comfortable, natural look. The pants show the personality of the girl. This is a portrait of her, and the way people dress show a lot about them. Link to comment
jonathancharlesphoto 4 Posted April 27, 2002 Very 70's style both in the clothes and the rather obvious sexy expression (why do we have to be so cool nowadays?) but it still has a nice fresh innocent feeling to it. I think the framing is fine. ... Jonathan Link to comment
