The light is very intersting, and the contrast between the sharpness of the rigging of the "real" boats with the wiggling of their "virtual" counterparts is most effective.

I would have done two tings differently.

First, the arrangement of the two subjects tends to suggest motion, like something far to the left which moves rightward, becomes closer to you, see the boat to the right, and then away. This clashed with the mainly static subject of the image. I would have therefore gone for a single boat.

In that respect, there was potential to enhance the effect sharp/wiggling which I like in the closer boat. So I might have wanted to concentrate just on that, possibly with a vertical shot.

I know all this is hindsight, but hope this helps.

Thank you for taking your time to comment. This shot was framed very quickly as the boat we were approaching in was about to disturb the calm water you see in the shot so i did not consider the relationship of the two craft with the static background. But you have bought this to my attention and yes ,I do see your point and this has given me a new perspective on the shot. I have also tried the single boat crop and admit it is a more powerful image but am unsure wether to crop with symetry or place the subject in the frame according to the rule of thirds. I might post a shot such as that for further comment. Thanks again for your comments ,rating is one thing but good critism is priceless ,thank you so much.
