Well I can only skate a little, not those zoom zoom kind if you know what I mean. Not much practise in Singapore with the ice skating place closed down for business. This place looks fun & big to skate with a nice backdrop of historial buildings & blue sky. The building looks vertical to me alright.

Merry Christmas to you & your family.

Very pleasant and natural scene, I like the beautiful rendition of colors, though the combination of ice and green of leaves is a bit strange... But a beautiful scene of life...

I think this is great. I've never seen a sceene like this one depicting London. I too love the lighting and the natural colours that come from it. I find it amazing that you have green grass and flowers over there on the left and a skating rink in the same picture. That just wouldn't happen here in Canada.

Thanks guys! The bit of St Pancras I like is the engine shed rather than the Victorian gothic facade. Unfortunately no steam engines these days to add a bit of smog and dramtic lighting to the shot!

Colin,

I just went out to take some photos of the rink in millenium square, Leeds - for some bizarre reason there's a 10 foot spacing between a crowd control barrier and the rink wall, so I mounted the Civic Hall steps to take some photos, the next thing I see is a security guard waving her arms at me shouting 'child protection, no photos'! There were no children that I could see, certianly none younger than a teen, the world has gone mad.

Strange, isn't it, when it is a public place and no doubt there was more than one camera there. I find taking 'street' shots can get this reaction which is one of the reasons I tend to stick to things that don't complain like landcsape and buildings.
