Who's Beak...

Magic light...stopped by a fishing dock and found this Pelican basking

in the last light of the day...

Love the colors. the light is magical...

That last light of the day is so lovely as reflected on this birds feathers and beak. No matter the subject you always manage to portray it in it's "best light", and your DOF and exposure are right on.

Seems so magical to live in a world that you can get on a plane and be in a Tropical land in a matter of hours, and the down side is to be back in the frozen North just a quickly...hummm ! I agree, we were really lucky, the light just happened for a few moments, and then gone... !

You have it all, great lighting and wonderful contrast of the lovely textured plumage against the perfect background. I agree with Susan, it does look like a studio shot. Love it!
