Tropical Sunset

Scanned and cleaned picture. The result of slide scanning a quite

diappointing: dust, scratches, noise and grain, dull colors. Does

anybody have advices how to get the best results with digital

manipulations?

Not to sound like a smart ass, but invest in a digital camera. To fix the noise in this shot, check out Noise Ninja. Considering the cicrumstances, I think this is a fine shot. Love the mood. Excellent composiotn. ~Will

What I did if you don't mind is play around with the levels and curves to highten the contrast a bit. Add saturation for the loss of it in the scanner and like the above comment, used noise ninja to clean the image. There will always be the little noise and feeling of pixels because its manipulated. The more you play with an image, the more you destroy it, but it's better than nothing. Nice image though!
