johnw436 1 Posted December 7, 2005 The altar of the St. Louis Cathedral Basilica. The people in the front pew are to give you a size reference to the altar. The altar itself is dwarfed by the dome. What you see is an amazing artwork of individual mosaic tilework and marble. Link to comment
johnw436 1 Posted December 7, 2005 It is extremely dark in the cathedral. This is an 8 second exposure at f/11 with available light. Link to comment
janpeter 0 Posted December 7, 2005 Nice picture but two suggestions: I would straighten the angles with something like panotools (PS perspective correction would also work) and crop the people at the bottom. Link to comment
arie07 0 Posted April 8, 2006 I am new to MF with an ETRs, your photos tell me that this is a great camera when put in the right hands. The quality of your finished photo is excellent - you can see the gold and the rich decorations.Do you scan the negatives or a positive? Link to comment
johnw436 1 Posted April 8, 2006 Thank you for the kind words, Leo. This was scanned from a negative using a low-cost Epson 3170 flatbed scanner. This image really does not do justice to the actual print- and the print does not do justice to the Cathedral! You will fall in love with your Bronica. This was taken using Kodak 400UC film on a tripod. The lens was 75mm MC. I have looked at your portfolio, Leo. Amazing work! I think you could make fantastic photos with a shoebox. Link to comment
