Hello,

so please if you do not like the image - give me some comments on

what you don't like... a bad raiting with a comment is a good rating

for me - comments are always welcome. Not only the good ones...

Rating bad without comments is worthless!

regards and thanks

alex

Originality - no but tragedy! I thought quite long posting one of my hard life shots. but it should remember each of us that there are a lot of poor people outside there!

I really like this one. I'd like to see it in higher-contrast because of the subject, but that's more curiosity than criticism.

I think some here in this forum are seeing the image as a curiosity. It isn't! It is just a man who surrendered the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia. A man with a story - that neraly nobody wants to hear. It should not be good in originality nor in aesthetics. It should not be one of those happy life shots... It should only give us a little feeling that there is a lot wrong in our world!

I see that it is polarising the rates - and that's good as it is!

Great capture Alex. Technically, the photo is very good, the composition is great, exposure is spot on, depth of field is good and the fact that he is looking down just adds to the realism of the scene. Emotionally it is a very moving photo. The type of photojournalism that belongs on the pages of any one of the big magazines imho. Well done, I'd love to see more photos along these lines.

Hello Bond...

I have seen a lot of worse thing in Asia - some things I didn`t even shot... like people in India (Varanasi) dying in a Hospiz while somebody showed me a place to take pictures of the Ghats... it was a big building with dark rooms and some small windows... when my eyes accomodated with teh darkness I saw people waiting for the death and beeing burnt at the Ghats at the river Ganga... but I still have some quite moving shots I will post... thank`s a lot
