will king 0 Posted December 2, 2005 One of the BEST bird shot on this site I have seen. Superb job capturing this. Link to comment
Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted December 2, 2005 Did you set the camera up and trip it by remote when this guy came to grab the bait? Perfect framing and focus. Striking shot 7/7. Link to comment
billfoster 0 Posted December 2, 2005 Just brillant! I HAVE to know how you did this; I assume it's a setup? Terrific, unusal angle leads to a really cool composistion and the urban setting adds a bit of surrealism. I would clone out the change in the road in the bottom right corner and think about correcting the viginetting in the other corners, but it might be ok this way too. Other than that, it's just perfect. Great work! Link to comment
hans.boddeke 0 Posted December 2, 2005 @William: Thanks, to much honour :) @Jim & Bill: I was lying on the ground for this one (very uncomfortable I tell you ;) ). On my camera the kit-lens 18-70 mm @ 18mm, 1/320 sec, 400 iso. It took a while for the heron to be comfortable with me. This is the result of a week's work. Thanks for giving your comment! stevetheoldman 0 Posted December 2, 2005 Great shot! Considering you're shooting at pretty much a "moving target" makes it that much more impressive. Link to comment
gordon_price 0 Posted December 3, 2005 Is this what they mean by a "fish-eye" wide-angle shot?!!! :) LOL! :) Excal Link to comment
stp 6 Posted December 3, 2005 Incredible shot. I can't image what it took to get this bird this comfortable with your presence. Certainly worth a week of work. Link to comment
ben neptun 0 Posted December 4, 2005 Incredible timing! Composition and exposure are right on. Excellent previsualization. I'd say that your effort was worthwhile. Great stuff! The bottom right is distracting. Is that a vignette from a lens hood or what? 5/7 Link to comment
hans.boddeke 0 Posted December 4, 2005 @Lucian: uhm, the fish didn't escape... @Ben: in the right corner you see a bit of wood of the platform. Link to comment
