Composition is great and the camera/lens quality show through very clearly. I love the drop of water draining off the eye and the airborne drops. Great autofocus too on the face. I want one - a Canon EOS1D that is.....

I love the sharpness and the contrast difference between the bird and the background.

 

The positioning of the bird within the frame is beautiful. You can actually feel the bird in flight.
