There may be nothing about this image that makes it sixish or

sevenish in quality. However, the event was a sevenish event. I met

a man in the park who was there to keep his friend company. After

ten minutes of conversation, I asked if I could take his photograph.

He asked me why? I responded that I like taking pictures of

interesting people I don't know. He said, "then I'm qualified",

stood up and began to pose.

You took an ordinary shot and made it look extraordinary. Very well composed. DOF is great. The expression on the gentleman's face is natural and comfortable. Great job.

I second the previous comment. I admire your ability to bring out the chararcter of every portrait you take, a special Howard.

I would be hard-pressed to give you an objective comment on this photo. This man reminds me a LOT of my father. Looks like an old war vet who is just enjoying the latter years of his live. My dad would always wander around in his baseball cap, out-of-date glasses, and a bit-too-big-nose and talk amiably with anyone he bumped into. Sitting in the park and allowing a stranger to take a photo ... yup, that would have been my dad. :-) Thanks for making me reminisce!

Oh gosh, looks like I'm about to upset the apple cart! Howard, this one doesn't do it for me like most of your others. Yes, the glasses are 'out-of-date' and the nose is a bit big etc. etc. - but so what! Look, he does seem an interesting enough sort of chap, but he doesn't stop me dead in my tracks. Sorry (I feel like an Idols judge!) but I think that by your standards it's ALMOST there.

Warm regards as ever.

Warren

I find this a warm, character shot. The man is not unique in looks, but rather familiar, I would say. That's probably why it will appeal to many.

The slanting hill which draw me up to his face, the crisp detail of his sweater, those RV windshield glasses - ahhh a piece of armericana. Great shot. I like it for all teh same reasons everyone else does. You sure have a knack for this kind of shot Howard.

Great Job!
