Nice theme fit.

It seems too dark...perhaps some fill light is needed. More DOF and a tighter crop would inhance this imagae...IMHO of course.

What Chuck said: theme fit ok but too dark, needs fill flash and lots of cropping, or get a lot closer.

I find the dark twig (?) behind/abive the main twig a bit distracting. But I love the blurred background. PT - how did the blue get inthere?

One more 'vote' for the fact that it is too dark. Also, the darker branch in the background on the right is a little distracting. I think it might be worth trying to clone it out.

Otherwise, nice theme fit. But maybe we would have see more of the delicacy of the situation of the leaf if you were using another angle so the leaf fully distinguish itself from the main branch.

Maybe PT should have left PS alone. PT tried desaturating to get a closer theme fit. Hopefully the origin of the blue background is apparent in the original scan attached to this post.

PT, the colors in the original are wonderful and warm - better to leave PS alone here! With the light you had there I would evn advise agains fill flash, because you might ruin the warm red-brown of the leaf. Different ange should have done it.

OH PT! put down the ps and step away slowly. The original colors were fine as is. I understand wanting to do a bit of desat. Ever look at Peter A's folders- he adds a touch of desat. This just doesnt pull it off.

Theme fit works but I would think if you were wanting to portray the delicate nature of a leaf hanging by a tiny thread before falling another perspective might enhance that feel. One where you could see more of the stem hanging to the branch.

All that said, the original is a nice photo.

Simple but very valid theme fit. Not much to add to what has been said, just that the theme fit might be strengthened if there were lots of bare branches visible (blurred) in the background, with this being the only leaf still left.

Great blue + autumn colours.

Great theme fit but I'm with Knicki - put PS away for this one. What a beautiful shot. I'm not all that distracted by the one branch in the background but agree that a different angle might have shown the delicacy a bit better.

It is delicately poised but I don't feel any delicacy here. A tendril is delicate - aesthetically and physically, a coloured petal - like a rose - is delicate. Late or early sunlight creates a warm atmosphere conducive to ..... delicacy.

The leaf is dead, drained of green lifeforce. It doesn't make the theme cut for me.Compositionally I feel it sits too high in the frame. Aesthetically I'd go with the original.

But that's just one opinion, and perhaps I'm playing Devil's Advocate!

The last leaf to hang on in fall can be called Delicately balanced I suppose. The brown against the blue sky background looks good. I also like all the oof bits in background. It helps make the leaf stand out.

The dark twig sticking up on the right and the large dark blob (tree trunk) on the left are quite distracting to me.

Cropping it close would fix all but the shadow on the twig. Not sure there is a fix for that one, but that's pretty minor anyway.

Hope you don't mind PT, but I've uploaded my crop idea with the original colors.

Almost looks like one of those little toy men at the top of the branch..., must really go get my eyes tested.

I'd prefer a bit more Autumn colours here, more oranges and reds.

Good theme fit.

Nicely focused on just the delicate subject.

Cheers
