will king 0 Posted November 27, 2005 Alex, Great effect. Nice use of the rule of thirds. I normally don't like that much negative space but I think it works with this photo. ~Will Link to comment

orensztajn 0 Posted November 29, 2005 Nice done, I think I like more the original, because is filling up the empty space surround her. But just my taste. Link to comment
v 0 Posted November 30, 2005 Superb shot. Gives the feeling of suspence and contemplation... very well done, Alex. Chapeau! Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted December 1, 2005 Both the original & the posted version has got their own merits. The posted one has a nice floating thoughtful element, whereas the original are more down to earth. I much prefered the posted one, though. Link to comment

shambhala 0 Posted January 20, 2006 Stunning portrait for different reasons - perfect use of the Golden Rule of two/thirds composition, the black, the light, and her expression. I like this one far more than the original!! Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted January 22, 2006 Shambhala, I found the original shot rather dull, though I did like very much the lady's expression and pose. So I decided just to isolate that. Thank you very much for commenting on my portrait; coming from such a talented portraitist as yourself, it sure is very meaningful for me. Link to comment
ruinog 0 Posted February 1, 2006 A composicao esta muito boa. Apenas acho que lhe falta um pouco mais de definicao De todo o modo gostei muito. Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted February 3, 2006 Obrigado pelo comentario Rui. A perda de definicao pode dever-se ao redimensionamento da foto para carregar para a net, e' sempre um problema. Link to comment
peta 0 Posted February 7, 2006 I like both for different reasons Alexandre, the posted one has more drama...your processing has certainly given it an Old Masters feel, the other more as a street shot. Have you thought of destaurating the original? Anyway she is a splendid elderly lady and I love her expression. My grandmother spent most of her days at a window I recall. Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted February 7, 2006 Thanks Peta for your very nice comment. I'll follow your suggestion and post someday a b&w version of the original photo. Link to comment
