very nice image! the square format works very well!

Looks like a movie still from the 40's. Great tones and framing. You could crop just a little from the top and make it an actual square frame and it might be a little stronger, but this is a great shot. Cheers.

i would bring up the darkest areas a bit.

I am impressed by how good photo-journalistic protraits like this one manage to separate the subject(s) fro mthe backgrund. I think the darkness and the fact that the background is out of focus go along way toward grabbing the viewer's attention. Great job!
