I enjoy working with abstracts and this was a doozy! I downloaded the file (and deleted it later) and turned it every which way. It works in every orientation. I also cropped it a few times - focusing on each popping knot hole and then on the section without a knot hole. You could do an entire series with this single photograph, not to mention the subject. I thank you very much for providing me with a very enjoyable hour and a determination to review some of my previous efforts. I believe that when a photograph sends another photographer back to previous work it can't really get much better.

I really like the idea, and that you noticed this! I think the light could have been better though, it's a little too hard and straight on for the structure and colour to pop.

This is no nag, the picture is great. I just fancy that i would lower the exposure -this camera seems good to this- and also use some sort of reflection from the left. The green shadow on the lower part is just great!
