One in Buttermilk

A bunch of critiques wouldn't be the same without my standard

waterfall photo. Do your worst.

Having looked at many long exposures of waterfalls, this is one of the stand-out best. The exposure is so accurate and works with the movement of the water. Grand quality indeed.

Very nice - I think the angles work well to frame the waterfall. It almost glows in the center of the darkness.

This composition kicks ass with its left vs. right / light vs. dark arrangement. The lead-in from the lower right corner is perfect. The flowing water speaks for itself.

 

I would, however, like to see just a tad more midtones form the dark areas. Also I think a shift of 2-3 degrees counterclockwise might give strength to the opper third without compromising the impact of the image, but this shift may ruin the previously discussed lead-in. Just a nitpick, sorry! I'm sure I would be silenced were I to see the full-size print properly framed.

 

Can you tell us how this has otherwise been "manipulated?" What shutter speed/f-stop?

Thanks for the praise and the suggestions! This was done at an ISO 100, f/22 at 0.4 sec. The only post-processing I did was to bump the saturation up a bit and sharpen it slightly. I haven't printed it yet, just too much going on, but I'm anxious. Thanks again!
