elaine_roberts1 0 Posted November 22, 2005 I like the composition, but find my self missing the color. We're always tempted to use black and white for winter scenes like this, but I think that having just a hint of color--even if is only a little--makes shots like this really work. Was it originally in b&w, or converted from color? Link to comment
richbh 0 Posted December 11, 2005 It was originally in BW - the always great Kodak Tri-X Pan. Link to comment
kim_tural 0 Posted December 14, 2005 This is a really pretty winter scene. It kind of reminds me if a charcoal drawing. The light and contrast are great. Link to comment
maria 7 Posted December 21, 2005 Great reflections - I think such reflections are better in B&W , still (I recall some from about 20 years ago ...) regards Maria Link to comment
photobox 0 Posted January 1, 2006 This scene doesn?t have much color in reality, even the water is gray due to gray sky. The right bottom corner annoys, otherwise an interesting study one can look at for a long time. Nice. Happy New Year! Link to comment
jeff_walsh 0 Posted January 30, 2006 This is the shot I wish I would have made. Top notch photograph. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted February 16, 2006 Great shot. I think the B&W captures the clarity of the reflections and the snow-laden branches perfectly. I agree somewhat with the previous poster that the expanse of white at the bottom right hand corner is distracting, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's annoying, and it detracts from the mood generated by the picture only slightly. richbh 0 Posted February 16, 2006 I know the white at the lower right is problematic, but I left it in because without it the eye has no place to really settle in the image. See what I mean? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 16, 2006 Yes! I see exactly what you mean, and the crop removes far too much of the reflection as well. Link to comment
richbh 0 Posted February 17, 2006 Yup. :) I vaguely remember taking a lot of time to frame this... and it was *cold*! Link to comment
