If your going to submit a photo for critique, I suggest you do a little dust & scratch removal first.

well... heather has a point, not that it bothers me all that much. plus, b/w scanning is a pain, well... cleaning them up can be.

 

having said that, my opinion here is much more with adam, the picture has qualities that dominate well beyond a few scratches. the composition is strong in its simplicity, the grainy b&w combined with the gray wheather suit the subject well imo.

Nice...this should be looked beyond the techical stuff...great composition. You have conveyed a mood.

I'm with Joam on this picture. The grittiness of the image is an essential element in creating the mood you wish to project. There is great beauty in the truth of such a stark image. There are times to clean up a picture and times to leave it alone and in my estimation, the decision to put it out there warts and all in this case was absolutely right. Regards, Jack
