pjmeade 12 Posted November 22, 2005 Hello Nick, the monumental scale of this is impressive. I get the impression though, that the tree is getting lost against the textures of the rock. I wondered about simplifying it a bit, so that the tree would stand out more. I tried reducing the contrast on the rock and clearing out some of the scrub. I think it more-or-less gives the tree more emphasis. But I'm not sure if that's giving the rock the kind of treatment you want. Cheers. P Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted November 22, 2005 Pete I like very much what you have done. On reviewing the shot, I wished that I had got closer to the tree on the day, and shot from a lower angle - but hey its a 26,000 mile round trip to have another go! Thanks for your hard work here. Best wishes, Nick. Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted November 22, 2005 The Olgas are well worth visiting with a camera, to my mind they knock the socks off Ayre's Rock! I only wish that I had more time, and perhaps a tripod! Here is a colour image that I took with My Eos3. Even though this was shot on Fuji Velvia (a false colour film), the colours are very much as I remember them. It really is a spectacular place! You can see my girlfriend marching on regardless of the photo opertunity, but she does allow us to gage the scale! Fond regards, Nick. Link to comment
