afterthoughts 0 Posted November 21, 2005 I would say that this image is "hang in a gallery" work. You handled the bright light just right. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted November 22, 2005 Very well done! I'd choose Abstract over Bird everyday for this one. A 6/7 or 7/7 without a doubt. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted November 23, 2005 According to new, recent PN policy, "This photo has not been submitted to the Photo Critique Forum and is not ratable." I'll keep watch to see if you do submit it so I can rate it. You should be proud of this photograph. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted November 23, 2005 Thoughts, comments, ratings? Not sure whether I "like" it or not, and mostly would've liked to have filled the frame totally without those black areas to the right. Not cropable without decapitating the bird (there'll be enough of that soon with turkey-day being tomorrow)but maybe someone can suggest something else? clone in some more bird color maybe? nicholasprice 0 Posted November 24, 2005 Hello Jeff, I like this novel image, however I cannot make my mind up wether or not the shadow enhances the shot, or detracts fromit? 6/6 Regards, Nick. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted November 25, 2005 Thanks Siddhun & Nicholas. The truth of this shot maybe even stranger than fiction... Took it at the very end of a long day at the zoo with my kids and some friends of ours. We were just exiting when I noticed these birds behind a fence & some tall grass. Since I had my oldest girl on my shoulders (and since she hasn't yet grasped the idea of holding on to me, but rather expects me to hold onto her), I had to shoot this one-handed while on tip-toes to avoid any of the grass or fence in the foreground. I'm stunned the shot even came out! Thanks again to all p.s., I'd also like to dedicate this to Miguel Angel de Arriba Cuadrado. Very inspired by his posts (though unfortunately not as good yet!) katzpjs 50 Posted November 25, 2005 The critics have spoken and rated favorably. I think this photo deserves a title. Imagination time... Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted November 26, 2005 Great colours here. At first sight those dark stripes would seem to prejudice the composition, but I think they may be the key to the depth, by enhancing the natural curvature of the bird. The only space for improvement would be to get rid of that black line on the background on the right edge. Well done! Alex Link to comment
