tom t 0 Posted November 21, 2005 Ye, I would not do anything like this unless I lived it - theme fit OK for me. Technically it's another matter. This looks like a pan shot - the water shows the camera movement. But the rowers are not sharp - think PT needs to practice panning a bit more? ( though it's easy to criticise... I myself suck at panning ;) ). The composition could be better - I am not too fond of cut off persons (left) and the half oar to the right does not help either. What does work for me is the slant, and the bright colors. My 2 cts - feel free to disagree, Tom Link to comment
seven 0 Posted November 21, 2005 Actually I like the sense of motion suggested by the blurred water. Interesting capture angle, the uphill body of water makes me feel that PT might have captured this from another craft. I would have preferred more space TL and BR but do enjoy the diagonal. Cheers. jeremy freeland 0 Posted November 22, 2005 I agree with Seven and like the sense of motion from the blur. I also like how the slant uses the corners of the frame to help emphasise movement - plays into the 'V' title (as do the chevrons on the shirts?). Theme fit works for me - I think the facial expressions and body tension give a good impression of the focus needed to keep in time, stay efficient, and keep going. Link to comment
