kirt1 0 Posted November 18, 2005 This is just an instant before she was hit with the ball. I cropped fairly tightly, so if it's too tight, or you see other opportunities for me to improve, please let me know. Link to comment
Ray House 4,511 Posted November 18, 2005 You nailed it! Exposure, DOF, crop for composition...great sports photo! Link to comment
kellyphillips 0 Posted July 1, 2006 Kirt, you are perfect at hitting the right moment. What kind of camera are you using? My rebel only gets 3 shots per second and I usually miss the right one. Looking forward to seeing more of these. Link to comment
kirt1 0 Posted July 16, 2006 For this shot I used a Fuji S2, but for the sports shots I've posted here I've also more recently used a D70 and now have a D2x. But it's not "frames per second" that nets you this shot. With pitches going anywhere from 50-65mph, you just have to time it right. The S2 had a pretty nasty shutter lag, so it was harder with that one than with the D70, and the D2x is even better. I also keep both eyes open when shooting, which, in photos like this one, lets me track the pitch as it comes in. Kirt Link to comment
