In the heart of Sweden,

I really admire the Swedes for their approach to "summer holidays". Instead of heading out to some luxury resort, many Swedes in summer (who can afford it, or still have family there) go back to the country, and live the way their not so distant ancestors did. Outhouse in back, pump the water, cook the local fish covered in salt, walk to the sea and swim and bathe in the unheated water. All of this done by choice. By contrast here in California, we would not even keep that cabin for a shed, but would build an oversized mansion on the property, a three car garage, and a jacuzzi. Then we would sell off the surrounding property so that there could be more houses built, cheek by jowl. Then we would complain, "there's nothing to do here, let's go to town and shop".
