On my monitor the blacks are not completely black but by just a bit.

I have to say that the cropping I do not like but that is just me. I prefer that the frames are "naturaly photographic" meaning that the frames I like to be with the normal aspect ratios of the different formats. For example, a square which can be found in medium format, your typical 35mm frame, a panoram, a 4X5 frame, etc.
