nicholasprice 0 Posted November 15, 2005 I'm still enjoying harsh lighting for "honest" portrature, but what do you all think? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 15, 2005 I quite like harsh lighting too, particularly where shadow is concerned. This shot is probably the opposite of the lighting I like, the light is harsh, yes, but only down the side of his face, leaving most of his features well lit from I suspect diffused light bouncing off the wall or some other reflector (perhaps a flash to the camera right if the highlight in his eye is anything to go by - another lightsource anyhow). It is an honest portrait however. Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted November 16, 2005 Hello Nick, Another very good Price portrait. The lighting is good. In fact, I have a feeling you could push the contrast on his face and darken it a little to dramatic effect. On the other hand, with the very light background, this is very good high key. Very few of your sitters show any degree of discomfort in front of the camera these days. Are you being selective with your posts, or are they getting used to the camera? Best wishes.
