tom t 0 Posted November 13, 2005 Very delicate indeed. But as an insect shot it does not cut it - you're way too far off. As a result you have too much clutter in it - a crop would certainly be a good idea here. Also, I find this a weird angle; something more sideways would show us more of this delicate creature. I understand that a sideways shot here would have been difficult, of course. Regards, Tom Link to comment

bhandari1951 0 Posted November 14, 2005 Good photograph, however this can be improved by crop of this image from blank space in front of the insect, thus detail of the colourful caterpillar will be highlighted, giving image a good outlook.. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted November 15, 2005 I'd prefer it closer up, but I like the angle & soft/ hard contrast. Seems okay themewise. Link to comment
mandar1 0 Posted November 16, 2005 A caterpillar is delicate indeed. As commented earlier the contrast between the textures is good. The leaf peeping into the frame at the top is abit distracting -- but given the natural surroundings it is hard to fix that. I am not sure a closer macro would have been better as the contrast between the caterpillar and the soil emphasizes the fragility for me. Link to comment
htc 0 Posted November 16, 2005 Theme fit it fine but technically it could be improved; as others said, the composition and the angle do not highlight the subject; too much empty space around and quite a distance from it. cheers, calin Link to comment
rkynast 1 Posted November 16, 2005 I love the color of this critter and agree that it is a good theme fit, though some farmers might disagree about the delicate nature of caterpillars. As has already been said, it has a bit too much space around it and the accompanying space is too cluttered. The angle of the shot could have been done on a piece of yarn, as well as a caterpillar. ralton 0 Posted November 18, 2005 Hey. The background almost seems sharper than the focus of the worm. Perfect subject for the project, but get a bit closer i agree. Cheers Link to comment
