carlos miguez 0 Posted November 13, 2005 Yes, but it is a very elegant, very ceremonious result. The contrast is excellent among both levels of the photo. It has a very obtained atmosphere. Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted November 13, 2005 Hi Ned I agree with Carlos - this is a very elegant photograph, and one that I would be proud of if it was my wedding. Regards, Nick. Link to comment
will king 0 Posted November 13, 2005 What an awesome perspective. This is a truly original wedding photo. 6/7 Link to comment
WJT 648 Posted November 14, 2005 Nice photograph Ed. The color temperature of the backlight is rather cool but I like it. There is a slight blue cast on the wood of the organ's pipe ranks that I would like to see warmed up a bit. But overall this is a great wedding shot!Perhaps the person who rated this so low is a purist who demands that verticals remain vertical without any keystoneing (easily corrected in Photoshop). Or maybe he is just crazy! Regards. Link to comment
will king 0 Posted November 14, 2005 Walter, The person who rated this so low probably was just an anonymous coward who had nothing better to do than stroke his/her ego by rating other's works 2/2. Sad. Link to comment
bob_easton2 0 Posted November 14, 2005 Very impressive depth of field! How fast was the film? Link to comment
James Kazan 17 Posted November 15, 2005 Ed This is excellent! Great depth of field and detail. Love the blue backlight. I take it from your comment that you set the ISO at 320. Just last week for the first time I tried a higher setting on my D70 with good results. I shot film for over 35 years and I always shot at the lowest ISA setting that I could so it is a change for me to step up over 200. I take it this was with a tripod?Great capture Jim Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted November 15, 2005 Yes, a tripod low to the ground. 320 is about the highest setting the D70 will go to without noise. From a practical standpoint, this is the biggest drawback with the camera. I prefer shooting without a flash. Even with a 1.4 lens I keep bumping into the speed limit. If I was working with film I would simply drop in some Delta 3200 and problem solved. On the other hand, digital sure is easier to work with. Link to comment
gerfoy3 0 Posted November 15, 2005 Truly amazing original photograph Ed. I love the use of the contrast between the shadows and the light drawing you up the isle to the couple walking up it and that is one hell of an organ. A very original shot and the depth of field is class?.Its such a pity the people in the seats all didn?t remain forward faces as the light of the hair and the side of the face creates a beautiful halo. What was the light source, the organ? Ger.. Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted November 15, 2005 The light source was a second flash facing the camera. This is actually the bride's mother. When the bride and her father walked down the isle she was to the side and the flash would have simply drowned her out. Link to comment

toddlaffler 0 Posted August 24, 2006 I know I'm late to arriv eon this image, but I just stumbled on it, hopefully you will get this. I couldn't help but try this image in Black and White. I think it may work better. See my attachment. For my personal tastes, the blue is too cool and maybe "unnatural" looking. See what you think. Great job regardless! :) Todd Link to comment
