From a Christmas portrait shoot I did for a country club. Photogenic 1250DR dialed down to about 50WS and into an umbrella located above and to the right of the subject. Disk reflector mounted on boom to the left and slightly above angled down. Metered and shot at f5.6 for 1/30 to get 20% ambient. Sekonic L-358 was the meter, and the camera was hand held.

I don't work with children that often, and generally just fire off a

bunch of shots hoping to get a good one. During this session, that's

what I did but particularly liked the lighting. Anyone comments from

others that shoot children would be appreciated.

The reflections in the ornament are great. It doesn't look like someone is taking the photo just like the family is sitting around.
