Half Marathon sprinkler

DB_Gallery

I saw runners going through this backlit sprinkler set up just past a water station at about the half way point of a half marathon. Nikon F-5, 400mm2.8 @5.6 1/4,000 of a second w/ tmax 400

Wow! I've been staring at this for quite a while now. I'm amazed at how such a "simple" shot can hold my attention for so long. Great eye, Daniel. The dark form, the chaos of the water, the highlights along the outline... I love it!

Very unusual. But since the subject isn't doing anything particularly exciting, my eye tends to wander. If the silhouette were a bit more animated, two-dimensionally, it would've added so much. Then again, this is probably an un-posed shot, so you take what you can get. Nice catch.

it recalls my exprience in the first and only half-marathon long time ago. although many peels around, but i were left as myself in the end.

One of the shot I enjoyed the most on all aspect (technical, aesthetic, creativly) until now on photo.net. Seriously. Bravo!

I should fall out of my seat at this because this is a great photo. Not to my taste (I often tend toward the grittier) but beautifully done and beautiful just the same. Perfectly realized.

BTW, do you know why the raindrops form patterns of ancient bas-reliefs? Best, K

This picture is insane! You've captured it at exactly the right moment.

I don't normally rate, but I had to give this one 10/10

Excellent shot. I'd crop a bit of the space above and to the left of the runner, but that's being nit-picky. And who am I anyway?

I think you've got some of the most interesting and compelling images I've seen on this site in a while. Very striking and original. There are several that I could comment on, but I think this is one of my favorites for the lighting, the textures, originality, and beautiful simplicity. You've got a great eye and you seem to get around a lot.
