goulden 0 Posted November 8, 2005 i love the pose, the expression, the lighting on the back of the hair. only negative is the rather harsh fill in flash on his hand and on the body of the guitar Link to comment
concert_images 0 Posted November 8, 2005 really James? It looks okay on my screen here to me. Might dig out the RAW file and see what I got to start with! Link to comment
rantes 0 Posted November 9, 2005 I agree with James. The pose, subject's attitude and the composition are really great. I'm really not a flash friend. I think it changes the real atmosphere. With the white shirt and the lightning of the place, maybe we could have seen a cool silhouette and the guitar's shape very well. But...It's a really a great capture anyways ! Link to comment
concert_images 0 Posted November 9, 2005 Here's as close to a silhouette as I got that night. Light was really dreadful, hence the need for flash. Link to comment
goulden 0 Posted December 15, 2005 "Light was really dreadful, hence the need for flash" not to disagree but i've shot in places where the best i could do was iso 3200 f1.4 and 1/30th and i'd still rather do that than use flash for live gig shooting. it just seems to sterilise the image Link to comment
grillot 0 Posted May 25, 2006 I agree with James.. my vote is no flash for all concerts even if means waiting... and waiting. This is the most tricky thing about concerts.. the have all elements (controllable and non-controllable) come togethers at the instant the artist strikes a pose. Link to comment
