ian green 1 Posted November 7, 2005 may be it is not the greatest photography art piece but still higher than 3/2 imho Link to comment
oskar 0 Posted November 7, 2005 The shape of the dead tree is interesting, but the over-exposure doesn't do it for me. It might be worth, if you can, to go back before sunset and take another photo then, because the side light will bring out the structure of the tree better. Link to comment
jam50 0 Posted November 7, 2005 Well... some of the highlights are blown and there seems to be some digital artifactery going on in the background trees (or something on the scanner bed?)... the overall lighting is a bit harsh as well. HOWEVER... the DOF is pretty good, I think, and the subject is quite sharp. Nice contrast between the root structure and the background. I've given up rating images, I will only offer critique now, but I agree with Ian that 3/2 seems rather unfair. Link to comment
alec 0 Posted November 8, 2005 Thanks for your comments! I forgot to mention this was scanned from a contact sheet. Hence the washed out highlights. I'll correct that in the darkroom later. Link to comment
