skarmach 0 Posted November 6, 2005 Lovely idea. But i wish you had chosen to keep the eyes dark instead of the nose. Link to comment
dchatter 0 Posted November 7, 2005 Thank you Jose, I'll convey your comment to my friend whose picture this is. Sunil, thanks for visiting and your kind comment. On my monitor the nose doesn't seem darker than the eyes; however, the nostril does. I left it as such because in my opinion it provides depth and a sense of direction---to do with the light. Nevertheless, perhaps the darkness may be lightened a bit. Link to comment

dchatter 0 Posted November 9, 2005 Nelson, I explained the procedure in detail below a companion image: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3852160 What wasn't clear perhaps was how to place the table lamp... it has to cast the right amount of shadow so that increasing the brightness doesn't blow off the definitions. I didn't get it right all the time as well, as is evident from the variations in the pictures. I hope this helps. Link to comment
dchatter 0 Posted November 9, 2005 Once again there is a most amusing spectrum of ratings... at least it provides for a nice laugh, it's becoming rare these days. Link to comment
