They are both stunning, but this has such a great depth of field. The sedimentary rock running away from the camera emphasizes the depth of field which is just awesome.

Where abouts are you located. Where I live there are some great rock formations just like this one. Victoria BC.

The depth of this photo is superb. Excellent job on this shot.

I would prefer to have the foreground be darker. More natural. Having the foreground (which is clearly in the shade) be lighter than the clouds (illuminated by the sun) just does not look natural to me. It looks filtered. Same goes for the reflection of the sky in the pools within the rocks.

 

But the composition is very striking. It's not clear to me which of the subjects in the picture is the most important. The rock formations or the sky. I think both could make stunning pictures if you cropped it a bit. You could leave more sky in the picture if that's what's important. And vice versa for the rock formations.

 

But overall a pretty nice shot.

I wont change much except darkening the foreground a little and increasing contrast in the sky a little. All elements came together for a perfect compo - well done
