Different and very interesting vantage point to see this wonderful subject. I too would have like to see it level with the world....Jim

Thanks everybody for liking the shot. I'll try and explain the reason for the slight tilt. When i took the shot, i had an idea of documenting 'life around the Taj' going on in my mind. and since Taj had to be the central subject in all the shots, for me, the tilt seemed to add to the looming stature of the monument, where its presence overshadows every human activity that takes place around it. Try and visualise this: do you think the same dramatic and overpowering presence of the Taj could have achieved photographically without that tilt?

i dont know if this gramatically correct, but i quite like the poetry in this frame.

But thanks for your views and for coming by

I'm sorry Shamik, but I honestly believe you didn't need to tilt the frame in order to emphasize the 'dramatic and overpowering presence' of the Taj 'overshadowing every human activity that takes place around it'.

Shamik, Obviously if the tilt is deliberate, then, by all means, disregard what I said about it. It's still a very good photograph....Jim

shamik,

If you have deliberately slanted the frame, I salute you! In such a situation, think about tilting it shows your photographic genre. Actually the tilt of the horizon beautifully strengthen the slanted man's push for the go! It works, and it works a LOT for me.

I stay in Gurgaon, if by any chance you stay near by, please have a photography outing. I would love to shoot with such a photographer like you. 09899842981.

Hi.

It's been a long long while since you commented on my photograph and I'm ashamed about not being able to answer back anytime earlier. That is largely because i had somehow missed going through the comments of this post of mine. Anyway thanks for liking the shot. Yes, the tilt was deliberate. In fact i had got the time to do and had spent quite some time looking through the viewfinder while the boatman was getting ready to oar away. The slant looked good and when the moment came i clicked. In fact during that particular trip of mine i was experimenting a bit with a slants and tilts, and if you go to my portfolio you will find a similar slanted shot of the Taj with two lovers in the foreground. Would like to know if you liked it. Anyways thanks for inviting me to gurgaon and for a joint photography trip. will be great actually and i look forward to giving you a ring if i find myself in delhi or gurgaon anytime soon. Do let me know if you are in Calcutta. Thanks so much.
