arthurs 0 Posted December 12, 2005 Good portrait, very nice & simple (it's underrated imo) Link to comment
Ziggy01 1 Posted December 18, 2005 Thank you, Arthur! Why is that pictures like above are not earning rating in my opinion deserve? Is it because not showing enough skin? Is model not beautiful enough? Or perhaps photographers are looking for something more outrageous? My goal was to create simple, soft and pleasing portrait. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 20, 2005 This is a very nice natural location portrait, and excellent work with the 20D. The young lady is beautiful, and her natural pose and look go well with the setting. The sort of casual disarray of her hair and her facial expression are both marvelous. The exposed strap on her left shoulder is a nice touch, whether it was intentional or not. This is the best of your three images that have people in them. Very well done. Link to comment
gabriel_rosales 0 Posted March 27, 2008 I'm not a pro yet, so I'm not gonna act like one. Nice picture. I would have a smaller apeture to get more of the background in the range of focus, but like I said. Great JOB! P.S. Beauty of the model shouldn't have to affect the rating of your picture. Ziggy01 1 Posted March 29, 2008 Gabriel,That is the whole idea of having background out of focus so you or anybody can concentrate on the beauty of the model. Pulling more background in to focus distracts from main subject. Link to comment

Pulling more background in to focus distracts from main subject. Why then Ziggy go to the trouble of finding a great background, only to eliminate it, if you hadn't tagged it I doubt I would have known it was a waterfall, just because you have a lens with great bokeh doesn't mean you use it in all situations. One thing more perturbs me is the 'sunset' tag. the light on the model appears too harsh and there is no evidence of it on the background. In my humble opinion these are two separate images. I am sometimes wrong but you do solicit opinion. Keep shooting though as practice makes better, none of us are ever going to be perfect. Oh! The eyes, focus on the eyes. Link to comment
