nick_s 0 Posted December 7, 2001 Wonderful composition... and yes, very dramatic. The only thing I might suggest is that since the sun is reflected off of the ocean's surface, it may be preferable to crop a small percentage of the lower half of the photo to balance the areas above and below the horizon line. The (more) centred vertical composition will be balanced by the offset horizontal composition (however, this may eliminate too much of the cloud detail and the resulting image may not be preferable). gauthier 0 Posted December 17, 2001 I think the orange spot isn't reflection on the ocean, but flare in the lens or airplane window. It isn't too disturbing, though. Link to comment
rich_shelton 0 Posted December 17, 2001 Thanks for the kind words everyone. The orange reflection IS the sun reflecting off a swampy surface. It was very visible from the plane, and was one of the more interesting parts of the photo for me! Link to comment
steve_bingham 0 Posted December 29, 2001 This is a very special and unusually beautiful image. I would change nothing! Congradulations!!! Link to comment
arthur sevestre 0 Posted February 18, 2002 So some people ARE capable of shooting great pictures out of a plane. Well done! Link to comment
karlf 0 Posted February 23, 2002 It must have been a real treat to see this live. How did you get such a good shot thru the plane window? Link to comment
rich_shelton 0 Posted March 14, 2002 I was surprised the window glass didn't degrade the image more than it did. The window was pretty new as I recall, and I used the S100 digicam at infinity focus and wide aperture, so the hyperfocal distance must have been at least 6 feet or so... Link to comment
stik 0 Posted April 5, 2002 Looks like you've captured heaven and earth -- black & white, and color -- very nice! Link to comment
