whitey 0 Posted October 29, 2005 This is one of the first shots in my new home studio. I decided to get some older Bowens mono 400's as it's getting colder outside and wanted to try something different as my photography so far has centered on landscapes. I created a duplicate layer of the picture in photoshop with the "screen" blend mode and about 60% opacity. I like the result and hope you do. Link to comment
carlos miguez 0 Posted October 29, 2005 I do not like the result. It is an artificial and senseless perspective. Sarah has a too nice, too clean, too extraordinary face, in order that you us conceal it. Link to comment
whitey 0 Posted October 29, 2005 Thanks for your comments although I wouldn't call it senseless. I wanted to try something different, I have hundreds of "natural" pictures of Sarah and you can see a few on this site. I have attached the unaltered version of this image for comparison. carlos miguez 0 Posted October 29, 2005 I only say that with such a face, the person who sees the photography strains in seeing her eyes, her mouth, her nose ... in her normal site. The photo does not have any other element, therefore it is the face and nothing more the one who leads it. If I have to turn the screen of my computer to estimate what I want to estimate, then it is that there is something that does not work in the photo. Link to comment
