Towards Scarfell - looking back to Borrowdale

Just back from my annual, autumnal trip the The Lakes - climbed Scarfell Pike this year

(England's highest mountain, but that's not saying much!). I love the mountains at this time

Hello Nick, this shot demonstrates what we knew all along, that the British landscape is as beautiful as it is diverse. I particularly like the broad ridge running down into the green valley.

 

My one thought is that the ridge and the background, but not the foreground, needs just a hint of sharpening. I have tried to produce the effect I mean. What do you think?

I love the rusty browns and yellows of the Lake District at this time of year. Haven't been there for a few years - must go sometime soon! I like how the eye is led around the ridges down to the valley .
